DJ Firefly did not grow up in a quiet house. There was the grand piano her mom played, and the odd collection of musical instruments on the floor underneath it. Next to that was an organ, and another one in the barn which didn't work. Violin lessons started at age 9, trumpet at 12, piano at 16. Choir and bells along the way too. And in spite of her classical training, she developed a strong interest in jazz, probably due to the loud volume at which her father played it. Then along came 90s club culture, and that wonderous new-music-discovery device: the internet. Mash all of that together and you've got a DJ who likes her music complex and sophisticated, with a great bottom and a kick-ass beat.

DJ Firefly's passion for music is continually evolving, fueled by the desire to discover little-known sonic gems and share them with the world. Some of her current activities include:

Rocking the dancefloor at hot Pittsburgh venues, including the Shadow Lounge, AVA, Z:Lounge, New Amsterdam, Firehouse Lounge, and more

Weaving melodies, jams, effects, grooves, and creative passions into numerous production efforts as part of a duo called Future Perfect

Providing her talents to the community as a resource for music production, art exhibits, spiritual gatherings, and live music events
